Brooklyn’s Bites Guide to MN Restaurants

One of the most frequently recurring questions that I am asked is for restaurant recommendations in the Twin Cities & I wanted to create a resource for you all to reference that detailed my favorites, along with recommendations by cuisine & occasion!

My Top 10:

Red Cow

  • To start: We ALWAYS start with the Chips & Onion Dip!! The WI Cheese Curds are another favorite.
  • Mains: My go-to is the Turkey Burger with Sweet Potato Fries (my death row meal) but if I am feeling a beef burger, I love the Ultimate! Matt’s favorite is the 60/40.

Red Rabbit

  • To start: Our favorite starters are the Wood Grilled Oysters & the Burrata!
  • Mains: My two favorite entrees to order are the Cavatelli pasta and the Spicy Salami Pizza.
  • Dessert: The Sticky Toffee Cake is one of my favorite desserts in the Twin Cities!!

Gai Noi

  • To start: Our favorites are the Basil Wings (a must order!!) & Jalapeno Wontons.
  • Mains: Some of the favorites I have tried and enjoyed are Green Curry Noodles, Pad Thai & Yellow Curry.

Bar la Grasa

  • To start: Arguably our favorite appetizer in the Twin Cities is the Spiced Carpaccio Bruschetta – a must order!!
  • Mains: My top pick is the Gnocchi with Cauliflower and Orange, with a close second being the Torchio with Charred Pork and Pea Shoots

Martina

  • To start: Oysters, Beef Tartare and the Charred Brussels Sprout Salad are my go-to’s! The Empanadas are also amazing.
  • Mains: I love to split the Cacio E Pepe Agnolotti and Potato Gnocchi with whoever I am dining with – the perfect combo!

Rise Bagel

  • Mains: The Rosemary bagel with Scallion cream cheese is my order every single time! They also have a great vanilla latte.

Rustica Bakery

  • To drink: They have the best half sweet caramel latte in the Twin Cities!
  • To order: My favorite place to pick up a loaf of sourdough! Their Levain loaf is incredible. You cannot go wrong with any of their pastries or baked goods – the Bittersweet Chocolate Cookie and croissant are two standouts!

Lion’s Tap

  • To order: All they serve is burgers & fries! My favorite burger in the cities.

Macanda

  • To drink: The Saffron Margarita is my favorite margarita in the Twin Cities! It is made with fresh clementine juice & is absolutely incredible. Matt’s favorite cocktail in the Twin Cities is the Hen of the Woods!
  • To start: The Mussels are always a must for us! The guacamole is also phenomenal.
  • Mains: We love the Carne Asada Tacos, Chicken Enchiladas and Salmon. The Corn Esquites is our favorite side to order with dinner!

Boloudo

  • Mains: Our favorite pizza in the Twin Cities! You really cannot go wrong with any of the pizzas, but the Pepperoni, Campo and Sarandara are our favorites.
