Baked Feta Dip with Homemade Crostini

Pin Recipe

Inspired by the viral feta pasta recipe, this Baked Feta Dip with homemade crostini’s makes for the perfect appetizer. This is a fool proof recipe that comes together quickly using only a handful of ingredients – cherry tomatoes, feta, fresh basil, olive oil, hot honey, salt & pepper. I have included my recipe for homemade crostini’s, but you could make it even easier by grabbing store bought bread crisps.

Tips & Substitutions

  • To make this even easier, grab your favorite store-bought crostinis! I find the best store-bought crostinis are found in the bakery section of the grocery store.
  • I would not advise using crumbled feta for this dip - a block of feta cheese is best.
  • If you would like to switch up the cheese, a block of Boursin cheese would also work for this recipe!
  • Because this is a recipe with very few ingredients, I like to make sure I am using the highest quality ingredients that I can find - especially when it comes to the olive oil. Graza Sizzle Olive Oil is my preference for this recipe!
  • I like to add some heat by using hot honey, but feel free to use regular honey if you prefer.

Ingredients

Dip:

– 8oz feta cheese

– 10-12oz cherry tomatoes

– 3 tbsp olive oil

– 1 tsp salt

– 1 tsp pepper

– 1/4 cup fresh basil, diced (+2 tbsp for garnishing)

– 3 tbsp honey OR hot honey – depending on your spice preference

– Optional: 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Crostini

– 1-2 french baguettes

– 2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

For the crostinis:

  1. Slice into 2 inch pieces and place on a baking sheet. Drizzle heavily with olive oil
  2. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes, flipping at the halfway mark until they are crispy and golden brown

For the dip:

  1. Place block of feta in the middle of an 8×8 baking dish, then add the cherry tomatoes around the sides. Drizzle heavily with olive oil & add salt and pepper
  2. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until the tomatoes have bursted. Remove from the oven and immediately mash the feta and burst the tomatoes using the back of a fork until you have a smooth consistency
  3. Add basil & hot honey/honey and mix well. Top with more basil and red pepper flakes, serve with crostinis & ENJOY!
