These Sweet & Spicy Candied Bacon Cheddar Crackers are an easy & elevated snack or appetizer to have on hand while hosting! They are made with only a handful of ingredients but are jam packed with flavor – the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. All you will need is Club crackers, thinly sliced parmesan cheese, bacon and a simple mixture of brown sugar, cracked black pepper, red pepper flakes and paprika! These are so simple, come together in under 45 minutes and will leave all your guests asking for the recipe.

Tips & Substitutions

Not only are these Sweet & Spicy Candied Bacon Cheddar Crackers delicious, but they are so easy to make & only require a handful of ingredients.

  • Parmesan cheese: Grab a block of parmesan cheese and dice into thin rectangular slices that match the size of the Club crackers
  • Bacon: Grab your favorite brand of bacon cut each piece into 4-5 small pieces
  • Club Crackers: This is my preferred cracker, but any plain, salty cracker would work. Just adjust the size of the bacon and parmesan cheese to the size of the cracker. 
  • Brown Sugar: This is what will give you the sweet & candied taste & flavor! Dark or light brown sugar will work here.
  • Seasonings: You will use a combination of cracked black pepper, paprika and red pepper flakes to give it that extra kick.

You will want to make sure you are baking the crackers on a large baking sheet lined with aluminum foil with a baking rack on top to catch the bacon drippings and ensure the crackers stay firm.

These crackers are best if enjoyed immediately/within the first few hours of making - store any leftovers in the fridge!

Ingredients

– 1lb bacon
– 1.5 sleeves Club crackers
– 8oz parmesan cheese, thinly sliced
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
– 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
– 1/4 tsp smoked paprika

Directions

1. Pre-heat oven to 300 and line a large baking sheet with foil, then place a cooling rack on top
2. Thinly slice the parmesan cheese to match the size and shape of the crackers
3. Dice each strip of bacon into 4-5 pieces to match the size and shape of the crackers
4. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, pepper, red pepper flakes and paprika and mix until well combined
5. To assemble, place crackers side by side on the cooling rack, then add the slice of cheese, the slice of bacon and top with the brown sugar mixture
6. Bake for 30-35 minutes & enjoy!
